A textured glaze is first applied as a base and fired, then layers of silver and platinum are added and fired again. This process of repeatedly applying and firing the silver creates a deeper, more nuanced surface texture.

While there is no water leakage, the use of coarse clay may cause slight water staining if water is left inside for several days—particularly at first. However, if this occurs, it will eventually stop.
