Kokuyou (黒曜) translates to Obsidian, a deep near-black glaze fired by Sakuzan with a fine, hammered texture that gives the surface a subtle metallic sheen, shifting between dark iron and warm bronze depending on the light. Part of Minoso's Fire collection, the color is inspired by the transformative energy of flame. The dark surface makes the colors of plated food read with particular clarity against it.
